Nike was a Greek city-state whose name was based off the Greek goddess Nike, who personified victory. They had a population of about 275,000.
Where was Nike?
Nike was located near Olympia in Ancient Greece. The land in the area is quite fertile because it is not mountainous, and near the river. This allowed for good farming and land work. Also, because they were on the river, they could use it to trade with other city-states.
