What city-state was Nike related to?
Nike was based off of the city-state Athens. They mimicked the type of government that Athens had, which was a democracy. They both had one main leader, while having many others in government positions. Also, they both turned the prisoners of war into slaves, and allowed people to buy them. In Athens and Nike, people received and education, and men had more privileges than women. Women, slaves, and people who were born outside of the city-state were not allowed to participate in a government position. Nike and Athens both were not war-based, they had a army of the citizens that would act when the time came.
